GROWING KRAKEN MOTORSPORTS
The NEXT Women's Business Forum is pleased to present a conversation with Alicia Rizzo, COO of Kraken Motorsports and winner of the 2019 Fort Worth Business Plan Competition. You don't want to miss this thought-provoking and FUN discussion between Alicia and TCC's Lourdes Ramboa.
Alicia Rizzo is someone who forges new roads while seeing obstacles in her path as opportunities to grow and change. Within the ever-changing industry of healthcare, where demands for efficiency must be balanced with needs for safety and quality, Alicia is responsible for a multi-million-dollar budget and a large team at one of the nation's largest healthcare systems. She has a master's degree in healthcare management and also earned a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma. In April of 2019, she and her husband opened Kraken Motorsports, an automotive performance shop specializing in performance paired with reliability. Opening her own business was a response to a need that Alicia saw in the market that would pair with a purpose that drives her husband, an automotive performance expert. This past October, Kraken Motorsports won the 2019 Fort Worth Business Plan Competition for a plan that Alicia wrote and oversees as she handles all business, marketing and HR aspects of Kraken while working full-time in her director position for a large DFW hospital. In her free time, Alicia enjoys competing in drag racing and autocross, learning new skills like paddleboarding, playing violin and teaching her Australian Shepard, Lexi, some new tricks.
